One should take good care after a tooth extraction. If he or she becomes reluctant and neglects it then it will become a fatal issue. Same thing had happened to my teeth also a few years back.

In those days, some few years back I was preparing to give hard for my Masters. It was final year in my college, so I don’t want to keep no stones unturned. I studied hard even in night for days and went to sleep without brushing my teeth in night. I have to pay a very big price for my negligence. Days after days and night after night I didn’t bothered to brush because all my concentration was to get A+ mark in the examination. Although I scored and passed with distinction but I failed miserably in protecting my own teeth from the cavities which have eaten my teeth and had affected the other two teeth also. The pain in my teeth had so much aggravated that I could not eat properly.

Then after my examination was over I went for a check up from my local dentist. He after examining my teeth immediately asked me to take an X-Ray of my effected teeth. The X-Ray when submitted to the dentist showed big cavities inside my teeth which are needed to be uprooted from the gum. My dentist had first pushed an anesthesia injection into my teeth. After some time, I felt no sensation in my teeth. My dentist said to close my eyes and sit gently on his dental chair. After a while, he awoke me and said that my teeth have been uprooted. I was amazed to hear that because I didn’t felt any pain.

But, the doctor advised me that to take care after a tooth extraction. He advised me to avoid taking solid foods for sometimes until my gums healed up completely. Till then he advised me to take liquid food items. He also prescribed me some pain reliever pills and said that if I felt pain after dental extraction then I could take two pills twice a day. It was quiet normal for some days, but suddenly one night I felt terrible pain in my teeth. As my dentist has advised me to take pain reliever pills whenever I felt pain after dental extraction, I followed it but in vain. My gum had a big swallowing and I revisited my dentist again.

He told me to take another X-Ray. The X-Ray report suggested that the cavities have multiplied and affected the other teethes. My dentist enquired about the proper care after a tooth extraction, which I replied confidently. But, when he also enquired about food items I ate, I found that I unknowingly ate so many sweet items that resulted in pain. The pain after dental extraction had vanished but the end result was very dangerous. Three of my upper jaw teeth along with other two was being uprooted due to cavities and have to invest more money to put false teeth in place of them.

Now, when I think I realize that if I would have taken good care of my teeth, this thing had never happened with me. My teeth would be healthy and I would have the real set of teeth than these false ones. How embarrassing. Isn’t it!!
